Hatbox. A hatbox in your dream predicts a pleasant surprise, unless it was empty, in which case it signifies a social disappointment.
Hatchet. You can expect a period of disturbing predicaments, domestic and/or business, if your dream involved using a hatchet to chop anything, unless it was used to split kindling wood, in which case it forecasts a reconciliation. To sharpen a hatchet signifies an increased income. See also Ax.
Hate. To feel hatred in a dream suggests that you should beware of misjudging someone; but to be hated is a dream of contrary and predicts an improvement in your affairs through the influence of sincere friends.
Hawk. Bright prospects are forecast if the hawk was flying; otherwise you must be prepared to sit out a period of gloomy boredom.
Hawthorn. As with most spring flowers, these are an omen of hope and better times ahead. See also Flowers, Colors, Foliage, etc.
Hay. Oddly enough, a dream of hay in the sunshine is a warning that you are on the verge of serious financial strain and should take measures to cut your debts; but in cloudy or dull weather hay predicts unexpected money. A haymow augurs successful love affairs, and a haystack (or stacks) indicates a profit where loss was expected. A dream of suffering hay fever (if you don’t) suggests a medical checkup. To dream of a hay cart forecasts a change, and if your dream featured mowing or cutting hay, you must expect a period of uncertainties.
Hazelnut. See Filberts.
Head. The significance of a dream featuring the head must be determined by correlating its details, but as a general guide:
A living head (your own or someone else’s) is an excellent omen for all that deeply concerns you.
A disembodied head predicts a new situation in which you will have to use your head rather than lose it!
A small, narrow, or pointed head indicates more work and less profit than expected, whereas a very large, wide, or round head means the reverse.
A swollen head is a warning against overconfidence.
To dream of yourself (or another) having more than one head signifies a sudden gratifying rise in status.
A dream of suffering pains in the head or headache is telling you to keep your private affairs to yourself.
To see yourself (or anyone else) with the head of an animal is a warning against overemphasis on material or sensual pleasures. Remember that an ounce of restraint can frequently prevent a pound of regret.
Strangely enough, in a dream half a head is better than a whole one as it forecasts achievement beyond your ambition.
An accident or blow to the head suggests tension and/or overwork; try to take it easy for a time or have a change of scenery if possible.
If your dream involved beheading, see Behead.
